httpebble for Android has been renamed to Pebble Connect with httpebble. It also got an update today that included several new features.
httpebble is a generic set of rules for a Pebble watch watch face to communicate with the Internet using a phone as a proxy. It also defines other features such as location awareness and data storage as well. httpebble was created to make use of the Pebble two-way communication SDK.
After running a few quick tests to see how my new site is performing, with only a few minor optimizations (bundled css and js not minified and a few image sprites) load times are around half a second. I also ran the excellent load testing tool Siege. At 500 requests/second load times were still under 2 seconds, all on shared hosting. No chance of getting slashdotted with those numbers.
